Hotel Europa - Zinal/ Switzerland

I've been staying the night in this 3* hotel Europa in Zinal.
The hotel has a really good price/ quality for Switzerland and offers room including halfboard. The hotel offers free WiFi, but no signal in the rooms.
The hotel is at 300m of the skilift in Zinal. Unfortunately you can't ski to the hotel.
The ski area of Zinal-Grimentz has about 80km slopes.

Rooms:
The double rooms are spacious with 2 twin beds (200 * 80 cm). Unfortunately the beds have a wooden surrounding, so there is no posibility to lay in the middle. The matrasses are very hard and feel not that comfortable into my opinion, my bag really hurts the day after (but I have to say that I'm really sensitive for that). The pillows are to soft in a way they are not really helpfull for your neck.

There are also family rooms with 2 twin beds and a mezzanine.
Those rooms are sold for 4 persons (can also be adults) as the beds on the Mezzanine are also 200*80 cm. There is also the possibility to add an extra bed (up to 5 persons), but only for a child < 12y.
The advantage for parents with children is the fact they don't have a direct view on the parents room.
The bathroom of the family rooms has the same size and facilities as the double rooms.

Bathroom:
The bathroom has a normal size with toilet, sink & bath/shower. Liquid soap is in individual packages, soap bar, shower cap and also tissues are provided. There is 2 small hand towels, 2 medium and 2 large towels (not very soft but not unformfortable). The hairdryer is of a good quality and to be called medium in strenght (it takes a bit longer but it works).

The bathroom is equal for all roomtypes

Breakfast:
The breakfast is a small buffet with:

- fresh bread (2 kinds)

- 2 jams & honey

- yoghurt in packages

- porridge (ar how is this mixer stuff called)

- mini croissant & chocolat bread

- boiled eggs

- ham/cheese/salamie
- fruit mix

It is not a large offer, but it was all fresh!

Diner:
I took the lasagne with mozzarella and a green salad. The lasagne was of a good quality and I also liked the freshly baked Bread they served with it. The menu is not that large, but it deels to be a good regular kitschen. Not special, but a good quality food.

Wellness/ fitness:
This area can not be called a wellness. In fact there is a room with fitness material in it and right next to it you can find the sauna with shower and a whirlpool (very strange set-up). But sauna & whirlpool are only on demand (for free) as they prefer not to switch it on all day. So you need to ask 30 min in advance and then they swith on the sauna & fill the whirlpool with fresh water (as the water can not be heated).

Advantages:
- the hotel is at walking distance to the sloops.
- everything is very clean

- friendly & helpfull staff

Disadvantages:
- no wifi in the rooms

- bad quality matrasses
- real twin beds, impossible to lay in the middle.
- the wellness area is not a place to relax

I would rate this 3* hotel 6,5/10, this because of the comfort of the beds. Thats really one of the most important things into my opinion. For the rest of the facilities it is worth a 7/10, but the beds really disappointed me.
